Body Language
Have we lost our body system to feel?
In a small theater room, two dancers watch the live clips of the ongoing genocide in Palestine - their bodies react.
By setting the scene within a theater-like environment—where the audience typically expects to watch a screen—Body Language subverts that expectation and turns the gaze back onto the spectators themselves. The work begins by presenting the audience as the focal point, confronting them with the uncomfortable realization that they are not simply passive observers in a performance space. This staging choice draws a direct parallel to how we consume images of real-world atrocities, such as genocide, through our digital devices—often with a sense of detachment.
